DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate the installation of “Jonesy\,” the life-sized long horn steer sculpture by renowned metal artist John Lopez at the Long X Visitor Center in Watford City.\nSponsored by Jones Contracting\, Jonesy was created in Lopez’s signature detailed “hybrid metal” style that that seamlessly fuses discarded farm equipment\, scarp iron\, and cast bronze. Jonesy pays homage to the Long X Cattle Trail\, which served as a primary route for driving huge herds of Texas Longhorns up from southern breeding grounds to the grasslands of western North Dakota and eastern Montana in the late-19th-century. His brother\, Maverik\, is displayed in Houston. \nStop in anytime between 5-7 pm to enjoy\n-Cowboy music by Gene Veeder and Kelly Hanna\n-Free Ice Cream\n-A Free Kids Craft\n-Photos with Jonesy \n-A Ribbon Cutting at 6 PM \nGrab a “Roundup Bingo” card for deals and discounts around town during Homefest and bring it back for a goodie bag. \nPLUS: Enter into a drawing for a 4 ft.
